The legal industry is facing a shortage of skilled legal professionals. About two thirds of surveyed lawyers say it is a challenge to find legal skilled professionals. Particularly for court reporters, there is a gap of approx. 5,000 job opportunities by the year 2018 and not enough court reporters in the market to fill them in.
The paralegal profession is projected to grow 17 percent over the next 10 years. In addition, 70 percent of court reporters will retire in the next 20 years. Thus, both professions have a big opening for new legal professionals and are in dire need of graduates.
